Project management, is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements.

 It is a way to map resources and areas which can be used for data gathering and understanding terrain in a certain area. This can be in the form of economic, cultural and stakeholder maps and many other resources which can be plotted on a map. The course goes through the general introduction and fundamentals to GIS Mapping and tools. Each week students are taken through the fundamentals of GIS coupled with readng material, videos and podcasts each week.

Project management is a methodical approach to planning and guiding project processes from start to finish. The processes are guided through five stages: initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. Project management can be applied to almost any type of project and is widely used in development projects.
